After studying philosophy and anthropology at McGill University, Aziyadé trained in film directing and photography at the École Normale Supérieure and Paris 8, where she graduated in 2024.
Her work focuses on sensoriality, often staging bodies and textures, aiming at blurring the line between reality and onirism. It is strongly influenced by Aziyadé’s background in cinema, anthropology, and philosophy at the École Normale Supérieure, McGill University, and Paris 8, and a strong cinematic culture.
Her first film, Solastalgie, screened at the Majestic Bastille in 2025 and selected by several festivals including Côté court, offers a sensorial and visual exploration of solastalgia.
Alongside directing, she builds a photographic practice deeply rooted in analog processes, which she brings into her commissioned work. Her videos (music videos, campaigns) and photographs are tactile, colorful, and cinematic, and were highlighted by Fisheye Magazine in June 2025.
Started during a residency in July 2025, Aziyadé is currently developing the script for her next film, Fungus, which will blend elements of body horror and found footage.
